10 x 10 Tisch Alumnae Reading Series 2013

This year I have been selected as one of the 10×10 Tisch Alumnae Readings Directors!  This SOLD OUT event is to support alumnae writers, actors and directors with the opportunity to have their work read in front of an industry panel.

Here is the link for more info.

10×10 is a professional development event, striving to usher Tisch Alumni writers into professional dramatic writing careers. Tisch dramatic writing, directing, and acting alumni join forces to present 10-minute plays in this dynamic showcase, which merges the tenacious tradition of artist-produced staged readings with industry networking opportunities. A live panel of agents, literary managers, and producers will provide brief critiques of each play and select writers for further professional development.  Each panelist selects a writer to professionally develop.

This is the second year of the event created and produced Stochastic Artworks with support form the Tisch Office of Career Development and the Tisch East Alumni Council.

Inaugural Success

The 2013 Presidential Inauguration was a huge success thanks to the Presidential Inaugural Committee and its fantastic team.  I was very lucky to be a part of this historic event by event coordinating one of the two Inaugural Balls: The Commander-In-Chief’s Ball.

Featured talent were Jennifer Hudson (featured above singing Rev. Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together” for the President and First Lady’s first dance), Brad Paisley, Stevie Wonder, Jamie Foxx, Alicia Keys, and Marc Anthony to name a few.  The event took place in the ballrooms of the Walter E. Washington Convention Center with the two other balls taking up Halls D&E, as well as Halls ABC.  Over 4000 active military and veterans attended the event Monday, including Tuskegee Airmen, Wounded Warriors and the Joint Chiefs to celebrate this memorable event.  Also, in honor of the birthday of the military braches, a traditional cake was production by Duff “Ace of Cakes” Goldman from our local Charm City Cakes in Baltimore, MD.  The cake was cut with a saber by a Coast Guard Lieutenant and Tuskegee Airman.

The next night was the Staff Ball commemorating all of those who supported the President’s re-election.  Special guests included POTUS, FLOTUS and VPOTUS plus Dr. Biden.

But who couldn’t resist a little Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett to top it all off 🙂

Yeah, this was historic…  Thank you Mr. President.

Happy holidays from “Christmas in Washington!”

Hey everyone!

Has been a super busy season so far with two fantastic shows now under my belt!  After moving back from Puerto Rico post “Chula” shoot with Ms. Victoria E. Soberal, I jumped right on board the Kennedy Center Honors in Washington D.C.  What a show – worked with the best of the best in television production and was a great tribute to the fabulous talent whose work has shaped our culture and history.

Dustin Hoffman, NataliaMakarova, Buddy Guy, David Letterman and Led Zeppelin.  These artists’ work goes beyond intention – it transmits into legacy.  An honor and a priveledge as always.  Hope I can help next year!

John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin

An honor Mr. Hoffman.

After Kennedy Center Honors, jumped straight into Christmas in Washington that was shot at the National Building Museum in DC.  This time it was fun credentialing time and was behind the scenes with some great talent singing Christmas classics!  And since the event was produced by TNT, got to hang out with some of my favorite Turner Network toons as seen above.  The event was a benefit for the Children’s Memorial Hospital with a lot of kids having the chance to join us for the show having just been released from there.

Things got a little controversial with Psy performing, but think the President was still able to get down with it during the show: http://youtu.be/FB73L8wvm5s

Has been a great 2012 and next stop… the Inauguration!
